• She appeared on the census in 1841 in Mains Of Fullarton, Meigle, Perthshire, Scotland. Recorded (aged 50) living with her daughter Isabella Shields (34), Isabella's husband William Shepherd (35, journeyman gardener) and their children Jane (10), Peter (7), John (4) and James (1).

• She worked as a Domestic Servant. According to the death certificate of her daughter Isabella in 1880.

Janet married James Shields. (James Shields was born circa 1778.)
