• She was buried in Kirkliston Churchyard, Kirkliston, Linlithgowshire, Scotland in 1861. In memory of Alexander Hetherton, late merchant Kirkliston, who died August 1st 1823 aged 41 years, also Charlotte Joiner his wife who died June 20th 1831 aged 60 years. Also here lie interred his father and mother John Hetherton who died 15th 1838 aged 85 years, Elisabeth Gilmor who died January 29th 1842 aged 90 years, Janet Farmer wife of John Hetherton who died 7th August 1861 aged 80 years, John Hetherton who died 19th November 1881 aged 93 years.

Janet married John Hetherton, son of John Hetherton and Elisabeth Gilmer. The cause of his death was chronic bronchitis and old age.
